Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy | Professional | Expert | Effective
My approach to hypnotherapy is Person-Centred and Phenomenological. Put simply, it acknowledges and values each client's unique individuality and recognises their unique therapeutic needs. Consequently each hypnotherapy session is designed uniquely and specifically for an individual client. Using a cutting-edge set of hypnosis protocols that go directly to the root of problems in the unconscious mind, most problems can be cleared up fast and effectively - Usually in just 1 - 3 sessions.
I am a registered hypnotherapist (GHR), with training and professional certifictions in both Clinical and Conversational Hypnotherapy. Hypnosis can undoubtedly be a powerful therapeutic tool when used with an in-depth background knowledge of psychology and an evidence based approach. Hypnotherapy can provide clients with a safe, effective and rapid means to achieve change in their lives. My professional background and experience enables me to keep informed and understand at a deep level the relevant psychological research on hypnotherapy, ensuring that my clients get the maximum benefit of every hypnotherapy session on whatever issue; it assures effective professional hypnotherapy.
As a professional psychologist I seek to uphold the highest standards of conduct and ethics in my hypnotherapy and counselling practice. All clients are treated positively and with respect. All consultations are totally confidential. I aim to serve Southport, Formby Ormskirk, Crosby, Maghull and surrounding areas, though I do have clients coming from considerably further afield.
I was ultimately awarded the prestigious title of Professor of Psychology in recognition of my work - though I only tend to use the title in academic circles. In the course of my general counselling practice (with cores in person-centred and cognitive-behavioural approaches) I developed an interest in hypnosis. I was particularly impressed by its speed and effectiveness and subsequently undertook training in clinical hypnotherapy.
I am a Doctor of Psychology and have been a professional Psychologist for over thirty years. While a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, I practiced, taught and researched psychology and counselling at a number of British universities. I have published several books and numerous research articles and presented national and international conference papers in these areas. Click here to view a list of some of my publications.
